TaxMom is more than just a tax and bookkeeping service — it’s a family tradition built on trust, dedication, and generations of experience.
Our story began in 1973, when Mary Scheidel founded the business after starting her career as an auditor with the IRS. Originally from Illinois, Mary expanded her expertise across Arizona, Mississippi, Florida, and Ohio, helping countless clients navigate the world of taxes with confidence and care.
Her daughter Katie joined the business in 1996, bringing new energy and vision. With her leadership, the Ohio location grew to serve over 2,000 clients. While living in Columbus, Katie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Accounting, strengthening her skills in tax strategy and analysis. Her dedication to accuracy, education, and client success has always been at the heart of TaxMom.
Today, as Katie transitions into retirement, her daughters are stepping up to continue the family legacy. Katie will continue to mentor and guide them and may offer consultations as needed.

Kaneshea
Hello! My name is Kaneshea, and I handle the bookkeeping here at TaxMom.
Born and raised in Twinsburg, Ohio, I eventually packed up and moved to Arizona with my three children for a fresh start and new opportunities.
I’m passionate about exploring the world—traveling, experiencing new cultures, and trying foods from all over. I’m a people person at heart and love bringing laughter and positivity into every space I’m in.
At TaxMom, I lead our bookkeeping team and provide dedicated tax support to ensure our clients receive accurate, reliable, and friendly service every step of the way.

Hi, I’m Jada.
I am an accountant who specializes in tax preparation and am cross-trained in bookkeeping. I currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business and have a strong passion for continued professional growth. I’m preparing to further my education by pursuing a Master’s degree to deepen my expertise and better serve our clients.
Outside of my career, I’m a proud mother who values a balanced and fulfilling life. I love traveling, cooking, listening to music, watching movies, and spending quality time with my family. These experiences inspire me, keep me grounded, and motivate me to strive for excellence both personally and professionally.

Hi, I’m Lenae.
I’m proud to be a third-generation member of our family business. Originally from Ohio, my grandmother started the business, and my mom helped grow it—now I’m continuing the family legacy. I became involved as a child, starting with administrative support and eventually growing into bookkeeping. Today, I assist with tax preparation while continuing to provide our full range of bookkeeping and administrative services, helping clients stay organized and confident in their finances.
At TaxMom, we serve clients across many states, staying up to date on both federal and state tax laws. We pride ourselves on offering knowledgeable, affordable, and personal service — the same values that Mary started with over 50 years ago.
